POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Agency for Health Care Administration is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Systems Project Administrator - SES within the Division of Information Technology (IT), Bureau of Strategic Information Technologies. Several IT skill-set disciplines and areas make up this strategic team. Information technology solutions are built with IT security compliance and strategic planning in mind through the IT Strategic Planning Team. AHCA Business Unit IT consulting and contract management is also a service provided by the IT Strategic Planning Team to assist the Agency in large-scale IT procurements. The IT Strategic Planning Team consists of Network Administration, Application Development & Support, and Telecommunications (Voice-over-Internet Protocol) plus cellular technologies, as well as staff who support the administrative, human resources, and procurement needs of Information Technology (IT) staff, staff of the Agency, and the customers of the Agency.

 

This is a highly responsible professional, strategic, and supervisory position within the Information Technology Division. This position is responsible for the administration of the agency's Local Area Network (LAN) located in Tallahassee and the remote area offices throughout the state, the design and development of the agency's LAN and communication systems, planning and implementation of the agency's computer systems and providing technical support to Information Technology and agency staff. The ideal candidate would also be responsible for motivating, training, and evaluating employees, as well as planning and directing employees' day-to-day work.

 

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

*  Supervises network operations team responsible for daily user access requests and technical troubleshooting, including: file restoration, SFTP administration, firewall management, and server maintenance

*  Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with the agency's computer systems and network infrastructure and works with partners offering cloud computing services and the state primary data centers.

*  Participates in the installation, administration, maintenance, and replacement of network computer systems, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions.

*  Works with the Division of IT Desktop Support staff on HelpDesk processes and is responsible for completing e-mail searches as requested by AHCA's Inspector General, the Office of the General Counsel, or Public Records Office and Internet history requests as needed.

* Administers and maintains the on-call calendar for both strategic and non-strategic after-hours support and works with the

Information Security Manager to ensure minimal access to the Agency's Computer Resource Center (CRC).  Also manages a

periodic review and inspection of CRC resources, staging, and lab areas, and making recommendations to the Bureau Chief and

Division Director for the improvement of CRC organization and management.

* Completes AHCA IT Information System Development Methodology (ISDM) documentation as needed for system documentation purposes.

* Some overnight and air travel is a requirement of this position; the incumbent may be required to participate in an on-call rotation.

*  Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will be:

• Skilled in the administration of Microsoft Windows Server OS (2016+) and Active Directory.

• Skilled in the administration of LAN switching and firewalls, including application-level firewalls.

• Knowledgeable in the administration of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and other cloud services in general.

• Knowledge of virtualization concepts (and preferred experience with Hyper-V or VMware vSphere)

• Able to identify, troubleshoot, and remediate complex technical issues with little guidance.

• Able to work independently, as part of a team, and serve as leader of a technical team.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

*  A minimum of 2 years of experience managing Windows servers and Active Directory environment.

*  A minimum of 2 years of experience managing Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365, or similar services.

*  A minimum of 2 years of experience managing a LAN switching environment and firewall administration.

 

*  Candidates with experience supervising a technical team are preferred.
