SENIOR CLERK

TACACHALE MEDICAL RECORDS

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA

 

Processes off-campus medical appointments including faxing referrals and scheduling appointments and emailing appointments to pertinent Tacachale staff.  Compiles folders for the following day's appointments to accompany the resident to the appointment. Coordinates the scheduling with off-campus providers and Tacachale staff to avoid conflicts and make sure all steps are in place for the appointments to be successful.

 

Enters off-campus appointments into the Tacachale Off-campus Medical Appointment System. Updates the system when reports are received and tracks follow-up dates.

 

Organizes and files medical reports and maintains medical records and appointment files by individual resident.  Prepare, inputs, distributes, copies and files medical reports.

 

Prepares and emails the daily Tacachale infirmary/off-campus census report. Copies the THC and ER patient logs to verify census data and provides copies to the HIM.

 

Processes the interoffice mail for Medical Records and the Medical Director's office. Purges medical files and correspondence on residents who have died or been discharged. Performs other duties as required.

 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, INCLUDING UTILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT:

 

Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

 

Effectively communicate, both spoken and written grammas.

 

Good clerical skills.

 

Professional telephone etiquette.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S):

A Medical Terminology Certificate, or comparable proficient knowledge of medical terminology.

 

A valid Florida Driver’s License to apply for this position. (If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver’s license within 30-days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/ Employment/Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that have “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

 

At least a high school diploma or its equivalent.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

This position is located at a 24- hour facility.  Work Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Off Days: Saturday and Sunday
