MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional experience in areas such as training, teaching, staff development, research, evaluation or personnel; or

A master's degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional experience as described above; or

A juris doctorate or doctorate from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of professional experience as described above.

Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires possession of a valid Class E Driver License.

JOB DUTIES:

Assists in the development and communication of division information and publications designed to keep the public (both consumers and business entities) updated on consumer issues as well as the division's responsibilities, accomplishments, and activities. This position will assist in the development of public relation strategies based upon knowledge and experience in response to consumer protection and business assistance initiatives.

Develops trainings and programs for professional development, required trainings and prescribed training for division employees. Training opportunities include, but are not limited to, in-person training, webinars, electronic communication, and include information regarding annual required training, professional development training and training as prescribed. Works with division subject-matter experts to maintain accuracy and current status of training materials. Ensures trainings and programs are executed in a timely and efficient manner that meets the needs of the division. 

Interprets assessments and gap analyses to determine training objectives. Provides recommendations and priorities based on assessment data. Implements training and development programs driven by current and future needs.  Attends training conferences where they receive updates on Department initiatives.

Acts as a consultant and liaison between division and the Training and Development Section of the Division of Administration in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and evaluation of training and employee development to ensure training standards, objectives and deliverables are met.  Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

  • Skill in utilizing audio/video equipment assigned to the position and/or used by the division; preparing and presenting effective teaching and training sessions; preparing quality and effective training and teaching materials such as brochures, student workbooks, and lesson plans, etc.
  • Ability to represent the division at meetings, workshops, ceremonies, etc. 
  • Ability to speak well and communicate effectively and comfortably in front of small and large audiences. 
  • Ability to work beyond a normal eight-hour day to accomplish necessary training program objectives;
  • Ability to carry, load, transport, and set up audio/visual resources, classroom materials and other items weighing up to 40 pounds. 
  • Competency in presentation/graphic software and programs including Adobe Captive, Adobe Presenter, Adobe Creative Suites, and Adobe Dreamweaver.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with each of the following software: Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and Outlook. 
  • Skill with preparing, editing and proofing written materials.
