The Florida Department of Education Comptroller’s Office has an Accountant IV anticipated vacancy in the Accounts Payable/Contracts, Vouchers and Warrants Section.  This position is responsible for processing contractual payments in FLAIR, and assembling voucher schedules.  This position works under minimum supervision and the volume is very high.  This position audits and processes invoices for payment utilizing various coding to distribute as determined by the accounting detail of the direct order.  This position requires a good working knowledge of accounting and auditing requirements.  Specific responsibilities include:  auditing invoices, setting up and maintaining direct order reconciliation and files, certified forward funding, and auditing and securing the necessary documentation for cash refunds, warrant cancellations for input into FLAIR and other duties as needed.  The person must be able to analyze data received to determine if the required documentation is valid and complete.  This position reads and interprets direct orders as well as other documents needed to process payments.  It is also responsible for maintaining controls to ensure that all payments are made accurately and timely.  All duties of this position must be performed in compliance with the mandatory requirements of Section 215.422, Florida Statutes and Chapter 3A-20 and Chapter 60A of the Florida Administrative Code.
