REQUIREMENTS

 

Plans and supervises the work flow, workload, objectives and time utilization for the nutrition educator, HST, and WIC clerical staff in the Belleview Clinic.  Directs the work of these employees to insure maximum use of time and resources.

Responsible for nutritional assessment, certification, and counseling of clients.  Provides nutrition education to present caseload of 2580 recipients.  Responsible for providing high risk counseling in the Ocala Clinic twice weekly.

Responsible for quality assurance monitoring activities for the Belleview Clinic.  Reviews medical records and monitors nutrition documents to verify correct protocols are followed in the delivery of services.

 

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Dietetics or Nutrition.  Must be licensed as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in Florida or another State or able to procure your license prior to hire.  Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.  Must have nutrition assessment, WIC certification, and nutrition counseling experience.  Experience in supervision, team lead, or percepting preferred.  Experience conducting quality assurance monitoring activities preferred.  Experience conducting in-service and training programs for staff preferred.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate.  The duties and responsibilities of this position involve supervising all nutrition education, WIC activities, and employees in our Belleview Clinic as well as responsibilities for quality assurance monitoring activities.

Serves as the consultant on nutrition and dietetics to health department staff and community agencies.  Other duties as assigned.  During an emergency the incumbent is responsible for monitoring and assisting in the evacuation of employees and clients in assigned areas listed in the Emergency Code Procedure Manual.  This includes directing co-workers and customers, checking rooms, and assuring doors are closed as they exit.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SILLS & ABILITIES

                Ability to plan, organize, and evaluate a nutrition program or project.

                Ability to supervise and communicate effectively with people.

                Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

                Ability to develop educational training plans and supporting materials.

                Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

                Knowledge of the science and current practice of nutrition and dietetics.
