The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is committed to making sure that Florida's consumers receive some of their most essential services — electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and wastewater — in a safe, reasonable, and reliable manner. In doing so, the FPSC exercises regulatory authority over utilities in one or more of three key areas: rate base/economic regulation; competitive market oversight; and monitoring of safety, reliability, and service.

 

Description of Job Duties:

This is an entry-level technical position responsible for analyzing utility cost allocation and other rates and tariff issues. The employee in this position is required to analyze filings, prepare reports in a timely manner, and to make presentations to the Commission. The position may work individually or as part of a team, and some assignments may require a quick turnaround deadline.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study preferably in: business administration, with an emphasis in economics, finance or accounting; economics; accounting; finance; mathematics; statistics; or public administration.

 

This position works in close interaction with other technical and legal staff, requiring the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
