MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A high school diploma or its equivalent.

Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional to moderate travel required. Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.

NOTES: 

The anticipated hiring salary for this position is $11.37 hourly.

JOB DUTIES:

Assists the district property specialist in the inventory of state, federal excess and sensitive property. Works with supervisors to conduct annual inventories and to ensure that they are completed accurately and timely. Ensures that all accountable property is located, inventories properly identified, and that acquisition, transfers and disposal of property is properly documented, including conducting federal property sales. Maintains records of fire department leases, and in conjunction with local Forest Area Supervisors, conducts annual inspections.

Responsible for the maintenance of one or more recreation areas. Responsibilities include enforcement of all rules and regulations, cleaning restrooms, policing the area for litter, performing repairs for electrical, removing hazardous trees, keeping restrooms supplied with soap, towels, etc, assisting with garbage pickup and other tasks as required. The park ranger also assists other personnel in making improvements on recreation areas.

Individuals in this position perform special periodic duties including assisting with prescribed burning, enforcing recreation area rules and regulation forest-wide and coordinating recreation areas for special events.

Responsible for overseeing and collecting fees in camping and day use areas when needed.

Willingly performs other duties as assigned.
