DESCRIPTION

Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee seeks Florida-licensed psychologists for several full time, as well as potentially half time, work to provide psychological services in the facility's three Civil units, serving adult men and women inpatients with both civil (Baker Act)  legal commitments as well as forensic (criminal court) commitments as  Incompetent to Proceed or Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity, who are diagnosed with a wide range of mental disorders including schizophrenia spectrum disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders.  A wide range of client ages, cognitive abilities, and behavioral issues is presented throughout the civil units. 

 

The incumbent will report directly to the Chief Psychologist, and will be assigned to a civil-side work environment within the Psychology Department based on clinical training, qualifications, and strengths to perform a range of assessment, treatment, consultation, and forensic evaluation tasks.

 

The selected person could be assigned to provide administrative and clinical supervision of unlicensed psychology employees and/or clinical supervision of interns, doctoral practicum students, and undergraduate volunteers. 

 

The facility provides services under an umbrella Recovery model utilizing multidisciplinary treatment teams, including psychology staff.

Staff housing on the campus is an option for full-time licensed psychologists who are willing to provide coverage for facility issues that may arise after hours.
