Senior Psychiatrist - DDDP - Chattahoochee, FL

 

 

This Senior Physician-Psychiatrist works within the Agency for Persons with Disabilities/Developmentally Disabled Defendant Program at Chattahoochee, Florida to provide psychiatric care and management. This position reports directly to Superintendent.

 

  • Duties include:

  • Evaluates and manages mental disorders for adults with intellectual disabilities and/or dual diagnoses in a state-run secure facility 
  • Plans individualized treatment based on diagnostic criteria  
  • Conducts daily rounds and orders psychiatric intervention as required. 
  • Makes clinical recommendations, including psychotropic reviews to improve resident functioning
  • Participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary therapeutic team assigned to each resident 
  • Participates in admission procedures by completing a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and documenting admission notes, admission orders and a preliminary treatment plan 
  • Obtains resident/guardian consent for psychotropic treatment. 
  • Prepares discharge psychiatric summaries on assigned residents with recommendations as to ongoing care  
  • Provides educational information to residents on illness and treatment. 
  • Participates in legal proceedings involving residents served
  • Assist in development of clinical programming for residents; oversee implementation of such programming

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Must be licensed as a physician in the State of Florida. Must have experience in providing comprehensive psychiatric care.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:
