The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity.

The Agency is responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program, the licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowering consumers through health care transparency initiatives.

Position Overview:

Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.

 

This position has been identified as mission essential.

The incumbent in this position may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays.

In addition, mission essential personnel will be required to work during disasters, to include but not limited to, work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.

Emergency work may involve the incumbent to work in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies with emergency work.

Emergency duties may include, but limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

 

Types and proofs correspondence, reports, records, facility evaluation summaries, extended duration reviews, and other documents for health care facilities as required; having finished product ready for submission or signature. 

Organizes licensure and certification materials, properly prepares packages, successfully files materials for all packages, completes logs, and monitors work flow. 

Ensures all packages are processed within 10 days from receipt. 

Prepares, organizes, maintains and mails all licensure and certification reports to providers. 

Routes documents and assignments per office standards.

 

Prepares daily bulk mailings and other specialized project generation. 

Maintains monthly ALF staff meeting minutes as required.

Receives incoming telephone calls, answering promptly and courteously; screens all calls relays to appropriate persons, if necessary. 

Places outgoing calls for supervisor as required.

 

May perform all clerical functions related to a particular phase of a program for which the supervisor is responsible. 

Provides general administrative support to assigned professional staff. 

Maintains FPSS logs. 

Independently verifies, checks and examines technical and complex forms and reports for accuracy, completeness, compliance with agency standards and policies and adequacy.

 

Performs related work as required.

 

A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time-critical.  The individual in this position is expected to report to work daily and on time.  Leave must be requested in advance except in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee.

 

This position is being hired at the rate of $1,298.46 Biweekly and is non-negotiable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

Ability to work independently. 

Typing skills including proper format of letters, memoranda, and reports with correct grammatical usage.

Ability to utilize microcomputer equipment and software to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data required to perform licensure functions.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of two years of secretarial or clerical work experience

A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience

College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.

Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.

BACKGROUND SCREENING
