This is an administrative position in the Fort Myers Medicaid Field Office, within the Bureau of Recipient and Provider Assistance within the Division of Medicaid, Agency for Health Care Administration. This Medicaid Field Office also houses the Medicaid Complaint Operations Center and Medicaid Fair Hearings Coordination Unit.  The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing clerical assistance to Field Office staff in the Medicaid Fair Hearings Coordination Unit. The incumbent in this position shall maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Florida Medicaid program and the operation of the Medicaid field office.

The incumbent shall process written requests for Medicaid Fair Hearings by entering the request details into the fair hearing module and uploading a copy of the request notice. Conducts basic research to ensure requests are entered correctly. The incumbent shall forward new Medicaid Fair Hearing requests to the Office of Appeal Hearings (OAH) upon receipt. Adds all new hearing requests to the pending scheduling calendar.

The incumbent shall perform all needed clerical duties in the office including, but not limited to the following. Receives, screens and routes telephone calls related to policy and procedures and shares the reception duty for the office. Receives, screens, and distributes all incoming mail. Prepares, meters, and distributes outgoing mail. Assures pick-up and delivery of mail. Utilizes Microsoft Office, and inputs data in a timely and accurate manner. Operates and/or utilizes a variety of standard business and office machines and equipment including: computer, mail meter, fax machine, copier, etc. Serves as back-up for processing travel vouchers.

Two (2) years of secretarial or office clerical work experience, including one (1) year of direct data entry experience, as verified on the application.
Preference will be given to applicants with two  (2) years of secretarial or office clerical work experience, including two (2) years of direct data entry experience, and a High School diploma, or its equivalent.
College education from an accredited instruction can subsume at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours up to one (1) year of the required experience. Vocational/technical training in an area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
