BEHAVIORAL PROGRAM SPECIALIST

APD TACACHALE SEGUIN UNIT/MAPLE

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA

 

The incumbent in this position performs direct care duties at a specialized secure unit, serving residents who have been adjudicated incompetent to proceed to trial for alleged criminal offenses due to their intellectual disabilities. 

    

The position requires the incumbent to implement the resident individual behavior Modification program, developmental activities, evaluations and make recommendations regarding needs of individual resident.

 

Attends Individual Support Plan meetings and assists in the development and implementation of resident goals, active treatment plans, etc.

    

Monitors residential unit, documents resident’s behavior, takes census, assists resident with routine activities, and intervene with residents when necessary/ required as outlined in the Program Manual. Serves as the supervisor of the shift when the supervisor is not available.

 

Pose the necessary knowledge to safely administer medications, and maintain a medication certification.

    

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT(S)

 

A valid Florida Driver’s License. (If initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida State driver’s license within 30-days of hire. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/ Employment/Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. License that have “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

 

A high school diploma, or its equivalent.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

 

This position is located at a 24- hour facility.  Work Shift: 2:00 p.m. –  10:30 p.m. Days Off: Sunday and Monday.

 

Employees may be required to work additional days/hours based upon the needs of the home and center.  This includes, but is not limited to:  ensuring home coverage, activities, holidays, and emergency situations.
