REQUIREMENTS

 

The North Central Florida IT Consortium is seeking a Distributed Computer Systems Specialist. This position provides both tier I and tier II technical support to the users in an 11-county consortium, primarily concentrating on Alachua, Bradford, Baker, and Union. This position records all support steps in the help ticket system, identifies reoccurring problems and makes recommendations for improvements. Installs and implements distributed systems computer hardware, software, and communications components including enhancements and upgrades. Analyzes and resolves hardware, software, and communications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical trouble shooting processes. Monitors hardware to ensure it is properly maintained. This individual must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, with individuals of varying skill levels and job specifications. This position will also perform related work as required.

 

Must have at least one year of IT experience (must be documented in the application/resume to qualify) and a High School Diploma or GED.  An associate's degree from an accredited college or university or comparable work experience in the information technology field.  CompTIA A+ and/or Network+, or Cisco certifications preferred but not required.  Must have a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle and br willing to use a state vehicle to travel to remote sites.  Must be willing to be available for weekend and/or after hours work if needed.
