The Florida Conservation Corps (FLCC) AmeriCorps program is administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Florida Park Service with members serving in state parks throughout Florida. AmeriCorps members will serve under one of three Project areas, 50 as Project A.N.T. (AmeriCorps Nonnative plant Terminators), 10 as Project T.R.E.C. (Trail Restoration and Enhancement Corps), and 5 as Project R.O.A.R (Regional Outreach and Awareness Recruiters). FLCC members serving as Project T.R.E.C. serve as a traveling team, focusing on trail assessment, creation, improvement, and maintenance throughout Florida’s state parks. Project T.R.E.C. members will also receive high quality disaster relief training, to act as the AmeriCorps Disaster Response Team (A-DRT) in time of disaster. Project T.R.E.C. members must be available for immediate deployment in the event of a disaster.

Applicants should be advised that this position will require regular travel, approximately 3 weeks out of each month. Member Headquarters are in Gainesville, FL between service projects, and members will be responsible for their housing accommodations in Gainesville. While on service assignment, members will camp or stay in Florida State Park lodging (cabins, trailers, etc.), and are provided meals through team grocery purchase. Additional details shall be provided upon selection for an interview.
