MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and one (1) year of administrative experience; or

A master’s degree can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Administrative and/or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

Occasional to moderate travel required. Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.

The hiring salary for this position is $12.25 hourly. 

 

JOB DUTIES:

This is an advanced administrative position which is responsible for all administrative functions within the Field Operations Bureau Region 2.  The position requires the use of independent judgment in performing a variety of activities in the areas of personnel management, budgeting, purchasing, record keeping and conducting research and analysis on a variety of administrative matters.

Oversees duties related to all fiscal matters relating to the Region 2 Mitigation Program which include but are not limited to, assisting in the preparation of annual operating budgets; ensuring that purchasing complies with established guidelines and preparing justifications and requisitions; accounting for proper and timely processing and encumbrance of all purchase orders, recurring bills, and travel documents using the Administrative Image Management System (AIMS); p-card processing; ensuring proper preparation and maintenance of all state and vendor contracts; developing and implementing internal audit procedures to ensure accurate recording of income and expenditures.  Maintains budget records and documentation on regional grants.

Provides administrative assistance to Mitigation Team Forest Area Supervisor. 

Operates a computer, FAX machine, copier and other office machines for the purpose of composing and processing a wide variety of correspondence and reports.

Serves as liaison between Region 2 and the state office on all administrative matters.

Coordinates and performs special assignments, research and report preparation as assigned by Forest Area Supervisor and Deputy Chief of Field Operations.

Performs other related duties as asssigned.
