REQUIREMENTS

 

This is a Senior Human Services Program Analyst position for HIV/AIDS/STD. The incumbent in this position requires minimal supervision and makes independent decisions in providing direct disease and public health awareness intervention activities in support of HIV/STD Prevention and Control Programs including but not limited to Partner Counseling Referral Services (PCRS), epidemiological case analysis and investigations, notification, counseling and referral services of individuals exposed to or at-risk of infection from chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis, herpes simplex virus (HSV), HIV/AIDS, human papilloma virus (HPV), syphilis and other bacterial, biological, viral agents. This position requires a firsthand knowledge of public health systems, as well as, high-quality and ethical professional and interpersonal skills to interact with health care clients, health care professionals and others who impact HIV/STD Prevention and Control, Public Health Awareness and other CHD activities.

 

Duties with also require knowledge of and appropriate interface with varied social, economic, cultural and lifestyle characteristics, and a skill in communicating with, and eliciting information from patients and target groups with these diverse backgrounds, Minimal guidance and instruction on work methods, procedures and techniques are required with review of activities at completion for technical accuracy, timeliness and adherence to instructions and guidelines. The incumbent is required to link clients to health education and medical treatment services, and must be able to work collaboratively with education and clinical staff. All activities performed must comply with exemplary customer service standards and federal, state, department and CHD Information Security and Confidentiality statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

 

Must have a bachelor's or master degree in Public Health, Health Education, Health Sciences, or Psychology from an accredited college/university or four or more years' experience working in Public Health.  Must have experience providing medical assistance in a Public Health setting.  Must have a current HIV 500/501 certification from the Department of Health.  Must have at least 3 years of experience working with community based organizations that serve at-risk individuals (i.e. LGBTQ, homeless, etc.)?Do you have experience or training as a disease investigation specialist.  Must be willing to work outside of normal working hours for community events or emergencies.
