Description:

 

The Operations and Management Consultant II- SES, position is located on the campus of Sunland Center and will provide an extraordinary opportunity to provide leadership to Sunland’s Food Service Department.  Sunland is one of two state run centers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and located in the city of Southern Charm Marianna, Florida. 

This position will give guidance to Sunland’s Food Service Department and ensure food industry standards are followed. This will also include food handling, preparation and serving of the residents’ meals.  This position will also train employees on food safety.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Licensure/Certification as a Licensed Dietitian or Registered Dietitian or
  • Bachelor’s degree -Hospitality Management or Food Services Management or
  • Certification from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation as (Food Service Management Professional or Certification from the Department of Health as a Certified Food Manager
  • Required Experience:  5 years as a supervisor.

 

       Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills to include:
  • Ability to speak and read English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, organizations and others
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Working knowledge of various software programs such as Microsoft Office products including, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel 
  • Enforces staff to follow proper hand washing techniques to avoid bacteria growth or transfer
  • Trains employees in methods for performing an effective and efficient job
  • Ensures food is cooked and served at its proper temperature
  • Tracks any recalled items and remove from line
  • Assures all employees under supervision are knowledgeable in handling, storing, preparing and serving food with acceptable sanitary practices
  • Educates staff on food safety
  • Report any deficiencies or needs of the Food Service Department to Administration upon discovery
  • Participates and contributes to the executive leadership team
  • Actively promotes growth and development of staff, including opportunities to learn new skills and advance both personally and professionally
