Job Description
This is a part time OPS reader/driver position. The goal of the Division of Blind Services Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program is to assist individuals with visual impairments in achieving or maintaining an employment outcome that is consistent with his/her unique strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interest and informed choices. Drivers will provide transportation for Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with a visual impairment, to assist the Counselor in meeting his/her essential job requirements that require work tasks outside of the office environment.

Examples of Work

  • Driver will provide transportation for a Rehabilitation Counselor to provide community outreach and informational sessions to unreached and underserved populations.
  • Driver will provide transportation to attend client transportation related meetings.
  • Driver will be expected to operate the State Vehicle and will be required to follow all guidelines in relation to the use of the state vehicle.
  • Driver will be required to maintain confidentiality standards required by all State Employees.
  • Driver will be expected to have and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License and a clear driving record.
  • Driver will also act as a Reader for the Rehabilitation Counselor as needed.
  • Driver will be expected to input work hours into the People First System.
