Your Specific Responsibilities:

Contributes to the organization’s culture of performance excellence by actively seeking to improve personal and organizational performance through measurement, analysis, knowledge management, and processes improvements and participation in performance management committees, councils, and/or workgroups.  Continuously demonstrates the Department’s ICARE values.  This is a professional administrative position working in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).  The incumbent assists in management of WIC administrative functions at all Collier County WIC Project offices.  Adheres to all security, integrity, and confidentiality regulations, policies, and procedures related to information under the direct control of this position.   This position reports to the Public Health Nutrition Program Director. 

Manages WIC Quality Improvement requirements.  Compiles, analyzes, and maintains WIC quality improvement data including Performance Indicators and “findings” from routine staff Quality Assurance monitoring.  Assures re-training is provided as needed and maintains documentation.  Provides oversight and operational control of all WIC quality improvement activities. 

Assists with ordering and receiving of direct distribution formulas (special formula stock) and required reporting to the state WIC office.  Arranges for credit/return of defective special formula.  Timely submission of correctly documented invoices to the state WIC office.

Serves as WIC Outreach Coordinator.  Responsible for planning and reporting WIC outreach activities. 

Assists with WIC retail functions including training, monitoring, and contract maintenance/compliance reviews.  Interprets established policy and provides information for the resolution of problems.

Assists with reconciliation of WIC fiscal data and maintenance of local agency financial databases, support documentation, and completion of the Monthly Report of Program Operations.

Assists with reconciliation of WIC purchase orders and other orders with various vendors and reconciliation of  expenditures with receipts.  Complies with and monitors compliance with mandatory requirements in section 215.422, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 69I-24, Florida Administrative Code. 

Attends staff meetings and training as requested.

Assists with ordering, receiving, and distributing WIC Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBT) and ID/VOC cards for all sites. 

Assists in maintaining and reconciliation of master inventories of WIC EBT cards. 

Assists with compilation of programmatic data for administrative decisions and required State Reports.

Assists with record and inventory maintenance/retention at all sites.

Provides technical assistance to WIC staff, researching and interpreting State office policy issues associated with vendor contract management, inventory control processes, computer issues, travel, and purchasing. Assist WIC clinics on occasion.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Competent keyboard skills required. 
  • Ability to learn FL-WiSE, FLAIR, SAMAS, SIMS and FIS computer systems, CCHD software applications and use calculator. 
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality and interact professionally with staff and the public. 
  • Good customer service skills essential.  
  • Public speaking ability or experience teaching/training.

 

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

EMERGENCY DUTY: Incumbent may be required to work during or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in Special Needs or Red Cross Shelters, or to perform other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

 

PREFERRED: 

American Heart Association CPR Certification.
