Library Technical Assistant I – 70930219

This advertisement is for a OPS position located at Marion Correctional Institution in the Education Department.

Salary Rate: $12.05

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises inmate aides and clerks monitoring and evaluating their activities, work, and record-keeping.
  • Processes paperwork including library requests and copies.
  • Collects data and compiles monthly reports.
  • Including inventory and machine usage.
  • Ensures that the law library is open for the weekly minimum hours.
  • Picks up and sends out library correspondence in mail room.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain records.
  • Ability to locate and use materials.
  • Ability to conduct searches for data and information in computer-based systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and communicate effectively
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments and operate equipment such as copier, computer, MS Office Suite and other software programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • One (1) year of library experience OR two (2) years of general clerical experience
