Program Description

The Florida Conservation Corps (FLCC) AmeriCorps program is administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Florida Park Service with members serving at state parks throughout Florida. Members serving under Project R.O.A.R. (Regional Outreach and Awareness Recruiters) serve in each of the five Florida State Park Districts. These members educate state park visitors and their surrounding communities about the threats posed by invasive exotic plants, as well as advocate for state park trail user accessibility. Additionally, these members will recruit, train, and manage volunteers to serve alongside other FLCC AmeriCorps members (Projects A.N.T. and T.R.E.C.) who focus on invasive exotic plant management and trail maintenance. FLCC AmeriCorps members for this position will report daily to Silver Springs State Park, work with the Florida Park Service District 3 staff, and submit service data to FLCC staff based in Gainesville, FL.


This is an AmeriCorps member position, with members required to serve 1700 hours between February 5, 2018 – December 31, 2018. This equates to approximately 35 – 40 hours per week.
