Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Successfully complete Disease Intervention Passport Training within 6 months of hire.
  • Able to walk 1 mile per day, negotiate stairs or other obstacles, kneel and bend
  • Adjust to weather change i.e. heat, rain or cold
  • Willing to visit prison or jail
  • Willing to drive a personal vehicle 25% of the time to do field work
  • 6 Months of prior experience in or or more of the following lab, counseling, emergency services, social work, interviewing, case management, or clinical experiences.
  • Willing to work 10 hours days on the Weekend (Saturday or Sunday) 


Conducting daily STD testing at the Center and duties such as: Data entry in HMS specimen collection through venipuncture, urine collection to perform APTIMA, specimen processing, preparation, and shipping.  Interviews, re-interviews, on clients with STD infections such as Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia for treatment referrals to BLISS and Orange County HD, and partner notifications.  Pre and Post-test counseling.  Documenting each activity conducted with data and time in PRISM and HMS System.  Educate patients regarding STD infections and appropriate medical care.  Interviewing HIV positive clients, referring them for linkage to follow up Medical care.


Utilizing PRISM System to input STD cases within 48 hours of interviewing and conducting field investigations to locate partners


Conducting Record searches or assuring available resources are record searched such as: HMS, PRISM, DMV, Medicaid, Jail, white pages, Spokeo,, etc.  Pre and Post-test counseling, Making phone calls to providers, to include Doctor’s offices, Hospitals, Laboratories, and patients to verify treatment and or demographic information if needed. 


Creating PRISM profiles for newly reactive HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea clients.  Operating various electronic devices, copy machine, fax machine, printers, Eltrons, computer, etc. 


Participating in all mandatory trainings/meetings.


Checking emails, and addressing phone messages, returning phone calls.  Addressing concerns or consulting with supervisor on client concerns.


Performing other duties not considered routine to support the mission of the program, Department, and agency:
