Hours:  Monday - Friday   (40 hours a week) 


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to applicants who possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business.  Professional billing or accounting experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications; Microsoft Office and Internet.
  • Ability to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper and timely completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work on multiple and complex projects.
  • Ability to problem-solved effectively and develop workable solutions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Successful completion of a Level II Criminal Background Screening.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Long Term Care billing or Medical Health insurance billing.
  • Strong accounts receivable collection experience.
  • Supervisory skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of State of Florida and Federal laws and rules regarding billing regulations.


Job Description:


Selected candidates will perform duties on an independent basis and are responsible for the overall Business office operations and

Functions; responsible for supervision and training of assigned staff; and functions as an integral part of the facility Management team, all under the supervision of the facility Administrator.  Provides supervision to staff for the planning, directing, implementing, and coordinating of facility business operations.  Assures staff is provided adequate and Up to date training in related operations and systems.


*Assists in administering the facility’s annual budget.  Provides oversight and accountability for Business Office

 operations.  Assures accurate records are kept through FLAIR, MFMP, ULTRACare, and V-TRACS.  Assure review of resident billings, Resident Trust Fund monies, and other financial records.


*Responsible for oversight and approval authority for the purchase, disbursement and accounting of supplies and materials.  Assist in the preparation of purchase requisitions for medical supplies, equipment, and other items. Review Purchase requisitions for cost effectiveness, accuracy and conformance with the Florida Statutes and department policies and procedures.  Responsible for maintaining an inventory management system for  medical supplies to assure control and accountability. Responsible for directing, supervising and monitoring of Third Party Billing and Collections including, but not limited, to monthly billing Medicare A & B, Medicaid and Third party insurers; set up of veteran residents acounts; timely posting of payments for all third party payours; research and resubmittig of denied claims; monthly review of aging reports to ensure timely collections, resubmission of claims for denial and determination of accounts to be referred fo collection; of Cost Reports.


*Assure that admission reviews includes residents’ financial statements, residency requirements, payment status and required patient financial information.  Implement and maintain systems to assure prompt retrieval of resident

Information.  Assures accurate records are kept of Resident Trust Fund monies, petty cash, donations, and other Monies received, as well as disbursements from accounts.  Responsible for review of aged receivables accounts and Assuring follow-up action on all collections.  Responsible for oversight, preparation and collection of data for all Required reports.


Perform other related professional duties as requested by the department, to include providing support to other

 Department staff and facility Administrator as necessary.
