We are seeking to hire a Government Operations Consultant I,  who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program.  This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment.


This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Recipient and Provider Assistance (RPA).  RPA serves as a primary point of contact for enrolled Medicaid providers, Medicaid recipients, and members of the community with questions and concerns about Medicaid.


This position is responsible for acquiring and maintaining knowledge about the Medicaid program in general, the functional responsibilities of all offices within the Bureau of Recipient and Provider Assistance, AHCA rules, regulations and procedures that affect bureau operations and performance, as well as the specific responsibilities and authority of the Bureau Chief.


The incumbent in this position assists the Bureau Chief by monitoring and tracking bureau performance and producing actionable reports and executive summaries for the bureau.  The incumbent must be able to make recommendations to the chief for improvements based on data analysis and process observation.


The incumbent is also responsible for a variety of assignments from the Bureau Chief that requires special research, coordination among the sections within the bureau, and situations where confidentiality is involved.

  • 1 or more years of experience presenting prepared data analysis in a public setting
  • 2 or more years using Microsoft Excel or other analytical software
  • 2 or more years participating in the organization of moderately complex projects


Preference given to candidates who have:

  • 1 or more years collecting, reviewing and analyzing data in a work or post-secondary education environment
  • 1 or more years authoring reports and executive level summaries based on data analysis in a work or post-secondary education environment
