WORKING TITLE: ACCOUNTANT III

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Financial Management Office.

 

The mission of the Office of Financial Management is to ensure the effective and efficient management of the organization's financial resources. The Office of Financial Management is committed to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in financial practices to enhance the overall financial health and sustainability of the organization.

 

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to fiscal standards and regulations, including §215.422 F.S., HIPAA, and department procedures, to ensure timely payment of legal liabilities.
  • Invoice Auditing: Audit and reconcile vendor invoices using MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP), Ariba On Demand (AOD), and FLAIR, ensuring all documentation is accurate and approved.
  • Organize Financial Records: Maintain and organize automated files of source documents and reports, and prepare vouchers for record retention according to department policies.
  • Monitor and Reconcile: Regularly monitor invoice and encumbrance reports, follow up on outstanding items, and reconcile vendor accounts as needed.
  • Professional Development: Stay current and efficient by maintaining required training hours and attending additional training in accounting and computer systems, while also handling special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must have at least one year of accountant, finance, or administrative work experience.
  • Must be Permitted to have Access to Department Institutions and FLAIR.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MFMP experience.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
