Division of Water Resource Management

Program Overview:

The Division of Water Resource Management is accepting applications for multiple full-time positions: Administrative Assistant, Planner, and Government Operations Consultant. These are administrative support positions responsible for providing office support to programs within the division. Specific responsibilities include the following:

 

Occupation Profile Description (AA):

This is work providing high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing reports, handling information requests, assisting with program management, assisting constituents, and performing administrative and clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, scheduling meetings and, also train lower-level clerical staff.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs) - (AA):

Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents

Communicating effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience

Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions

Reorganizing information to get a better approach to problems or tasks

Managing one's own time and the time of others

Talking to others to effectively convey information

Knowing how to find information and identifying essential information

Assessing how well one is doing when learning or doing something

Listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate

Obtaining and seeing to the appropriated use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems

Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This may include strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods

Knowledge of computer software including applications

 

Occupation Profile Description (Planner and Government Operations Consultant):

This is work providing technical assistance and developing operations and procedures to assist programs in operating efficiently and effectively.  May include program analysis, management consulting, and development. Some positions in this occupation may be responsible for coordinating work. Gathers and organizes information. Analyses data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) - (Planner and Government Operations Consultant):

Communicating effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience

Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents

Identifying the things that must be changed to achieve a goal

Talking to others to effectively convey information

Identifying the nature of problems

Knowing how to find information and identifying essential information

Listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate

Finding ways to structure or classify multiple pieces of information

Using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches

Developing approaches for implementing an idea

Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This may include strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

Teaching others how to do something

Looking at many indicators of system performance, taking into account their accuracy

Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data

Knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships including one or more of the following:  arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications

Knowledge of policies and practices involved in personnel/human resource functions

Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process

Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions

Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

An Associate’s degree
