Our Organization and Mission:

The Division of Professions is responsible for the licensing of over 503,000 professionals. These professions include architects and interior designers, asbestos consultants, athlete agents, auctioneers, barbers, building code administrators and inspectors, community association managers, construction contractors, cosmetology, electrical contractors, employee leasing companies, geologists, home inspectors, landscape architects, mold assessors and remediators, pilot commissioners and veterinarians.  Housed within the division is the Bureau of Education and Testing and the Florida Building Commission.

 

The Work You Will Do:

This position is located in the Florida Homeowners' Construction Recovery Fund section and is primarily responsible for processing Recovery Fund payments.   

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Performs reviews of claims for payment from the Recovery Fund.  Ensures that all requirements for approval of claims are met by the claimant.   
  • Corresponds with claimants by telephone, letter and e-mail regarding the status of claims and any deficiencies which must be addressed.   
  • Maintains and updates claims files in an organized, comprehensive, chronological, and timely manner.   
  • Tracks and updates cases in the single licensing system (VERSA:Regulation). 
  • Scans and indexes documents into the agency's document management system (OnBase).  
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and handles appropriately.       
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.    

       

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written. 
  • Knowledge of board functions and licensure procedures. 
  • Ability to work independently on recommendations and improvements to program.  Ability to interpret the Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code pertaining to the Construction Recovery Fund. 
  • Knowledge of Versa:Regulation and OnBase.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university or
  • Administrative or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
