SPECIAL NOTES:

A College Degree from an accredited college or university or two or more years of Data Processing experience is required.

Additional requirements:

  • Must be willing to be On-Call on Holidays and Weekends.
  • Must have two (2) or more years CA-7 Automated Scheduling experience.

Preference will be given for applicants with:

  • Two (2) or more years TSO experience.
  • Two (2) or more IBM JCL (Job Control Language) experience.

This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Job Control Language (JCL) and Time-Sharing Options (TSO) commands.
  • Knowledge of CA-7 automated scheduling techniques and software commands.
  • Knowledge of CA-7 triggers, predecessors and dependencies.
  • Skill in identifying, analyzing and resolving scheduling problems.
  • Ability to communicate, plan and coordinate with programmers and users to execute CA-7 scheduled job requirements.
  • Ability to monitor and maintain CA-7 automated production jobs schedules and calendars.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This is professional technical work maintain computer operations for the Department of Financial Services.  Incumbent duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Schedules work for computer processing and monitors execution of schedule, using CA-7 scheduler application software.
  • Schedules production jobs for daily and nightly processing through CA-7 application.
  • Monitors execution of CA-7 jobs streams schedules using CA-7 software commands.
  • Reviews completed CA-7 job schedules to detect conflicts of dependent jobs and predecessor jobs.
  • Develops and maintain CA-7 biannual and yearly calendar schedules for processing production jobs.
  • Reviews CA-7 tickets and job requests received from programmers and CA-7 users.
  • Coordinate with programmers and users to define and schedule new jobs requirements.
  • Train other workers in use of scheduling software.
