We are seeking to hire a Government Analyst II that desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program.  This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-based work environment.

This position is responsible for coordinating, reviewing and monitoring managed care plan performance improvement projects and quality activities.  The analyst will be responsible for designing and implementing monitoring and review techniques and communicating with internal Agency staff as well as external vendors and stakeholders.

This position may require travel.



  • Experience with Medicaid and other healthcare systems.
  • Practical social health or managed care experience.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing reports related to health care, including financial and health outcomes. 
  • Ability to compile, organize, and analyze data and develop reports.
  • Ability to develop and implement various program monitoring methodologies and techniques.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use computer systems for general office and research purposes (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi-task and meet deadlines.  
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team with other bureaus and the Agency management team.
  • Ability to travel with or without accommodations.



  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in medical/health or social/human services. 
  • A bachelor's degree from a college or university is preferred with four additional years of professional experience in social health, health care, systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program monitoring or evaluation, or administrative work; a master's degree from a college or university can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred degree and experience. 
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
