JOB SUMMARY:
The position is in the Office of Inspector General and is responsible for conducting employee and contractor misconduct reviews and investigations in accordance with Section 20.055, Florida Statutes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least five (5) years of investigative experience with at least two (2) years spent in an Office of Inspector General, Internal Affairs, or similar/equivalent environment (i.e., conducting investigations involving an agency’s own employees).
- Must be eligible to become a notary public in Florida.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for four (4) years of relevant work experience.
PREFERENCES:
- Certified Fraud Examiner and/or Certified Inspector General Investigator designation is preferred.
Candidates will be expected to attain the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, for the position:
- At least five (5) years of investigative experience with at least two (2) years spent in an Office of Inspector General, Internal Affairs, or similar/equivalent environment (i.e., conducting investigations involving an agency’s own employees).
- Experience interviewing and obtaining sworn statements from witnesses, complainants, and subjects.
- Experience summarizing information and writing detailed reports
- Experience interpreting violations of law, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Experience working with computer-based software, such as word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must be eligible to become a notary public in Florida.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- This is a Selected Exempt Position.
- Salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience; however, the salary will not exceed $54,590 annually.
- Travel will be required for some assigned cases/projects or training.
- A work sample will be given.

- This position is not eligible for full-time or part-time telework/remote work; however, it may be eligible for part-time telework/remote work after a period of six months.
SALARY: $49,584.72 - $54,590.04
