Description of Job

This is a highly responsible and professional position in the Office of the Inspector General.  As a Management Review Specialist you will plan and perform independent compliance audits of Specialty License Plate and Voluntary Contribution Organizations, to include determining the audit scope and objectives, developing the audit program, conducting fieldwork and preparing report for supervisory review.  Conduct audits in accordance with the applicable assurance standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.  Review internal controls for efficiency and effectiveness and compliance matters significant to the audit objectives.  


Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants currently licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida.  Preference will also be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Preference will also be given to applicants with at least 5 years of related professional experience in auditing or accounting. 


Additional preference will be given to applicants with related professional experience conducting, preparing or supervising audits; Experience working in automated working papers; Experience working with Not-for-Profits; Experience working with Private Business Accounting.  Additional preference will also be given to applicants holding a degree in accounting and/or professional certification including Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Government Auditing Professional, Certified Government Finance Manager, or Certified Inspector General Auditor. 


Special Note

This position requires:

  • The selected applicant must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) criminal history background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Travel is required


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal communication including interviewing and presentation skills
  • Exceptional professional writing skills for creating business documents and/or detailed reports
  • Knowledge of auditing standards and practices
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel
