Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the section manager with all Driver Education processes to include the licensure of commercial driving schools; conducting effectiveness/recidivism studies; assisting with the continued implementation of the Improving Processes Suggestion Program and the Bureau’s Strategic Plan; coordinating and participating in all bill analyses and legislative implementation; preparing reports (e.g., PAMS and budget monitoring); memorializing Bureau accomplishments; and performing curriculum review of Advanced Driver Improvement (ADI), Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) and Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) courses.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Chapter 316, 322, 324 and 627 of the Florida Statutes;
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications to include Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Skilled in problem solving techniques;
  • Skilled in conducting data analysis to determine trends, effectiveness and recidivism;
  • Skilled in conducting process improvements;
  • Skilled in conducting bill analysis;
  • Skilled in conducting legislative bill proposals;
  • Skilled in designing, developing and producing reports in a qualitative and quantitative manner;
  • Ability to investigate, analyze and resolve problems;
  • Ability to compose and proofread section work appropriate reports and correspondence;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with the following experience:

  • Performing data analysis and conducting process improvements.
  • Using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and/or Outlook.
  • Curriculum design and/or development.
  • Performing Legislative Bill Analysis and developing Legislative Bill Proposals.
  • Preparing Reports.
  • Developing Microsoft Access user applications.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.  Preference will also be given to applicants who have a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Statistics and/or Accounting.

 

Job Related Requirements

  • This positionmay be required to work hours outside of the noramal work schedule to include evenings and/or weekends.
