MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (1) A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or (2)  A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and one year experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or (3) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; or (4) Three years of experience as described above and either (a) completion of a 720 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (b) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems. (5) Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. (6)  Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.

DUTIES: This position reports to the Distributed System Administration Data Processing Manager within the ITS Bureau of Customer Service Administration and is responsible for providing systems administration and second tier support within the Desktop Support  team, which provides installation, implementing, maintaining and supporting distributed computer systems, including: hardware, software, and communications components. It supports the department’s desktops/laptops and related peripherals and is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and centrally managing enterprise desktop solutions in a local and wide area network environment. Conduct research to support the planning and enhancement of the distributed computer systems, including enterprise virus protection, enterprise patch deployment and system configuration solutions. Assist higher level personnel to establish methods and procedures for distributed computer systems. Assist in the coordination of standard implementation of policies, procedures and system operations. Write and implement Group Policy Objects to streamline and remove manual process. Work with vendor help desk personnel to resolve problems with vendor operating system or application software and maintain designated records.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Windows 7 and Windows 10, Knowledge of Enterprise centrally managed desktop deployment solutions, Knowledge of Window scripting techniques, Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical incidents remotely, Ability to develop training programs related to distributed systems components, Ability to process information logically and solve problems, Ability to communicate effectively, handle multiple priorities, and assignments, Ability to plan, organizes, and coordinates work assignments, Process development, implementation and improvement skills, Teamwork and interpersonal skills, Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business processes, Effective written and verbal communications skills.

Starting salary will be the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's Pay Policy.
