Position Duties & Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the Operations & Management Consultant II - SES in the HR Management unit in the Division of Motorist Services and is responsible for conducting research, analysis and making technical recommendations for improving services in the HR Management Office in Motorist Services. This position develops, prepares, and maintains management reports, logs, and tracking systems for Motorist Services and is responsible for assisting with the selection/hiring process and creating best practices for filling vacancies in the Division. This position is responsible for processing highly sensitive information in a confidential manner. 


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, including cooperation, pride, trust, and commitment within the Motorist Services HR Management Team and Division.
  • Skill in using a personal computer, including Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint, and scanning equipment.
  • Ability to independently compose professional correspondence; communicates information in a succinct and organized manner; produces written information that is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Ability to research, analyze data, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research.
  • Knowledge of personnel rules and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Skilled in staying organized, including maintaining filing system.
  • Ability to manage time and workload priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to make informed decisions regarding personnel processes.



Preference will be given to applicants who have at least two years of professional work experience providing customer service and using Microsoft Word and Excel. Preference will also be given to applicants with at least two years of experience preparing professional correspondence.


General Information

The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.


Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI.


The process for selecting applicant(s) for this position could take up to six months.  Following the six-month period, a new application must be submitted to an open advertisement in order to be considered for that vacancy.


HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
