The incumbent may be required to travel throughout the state and is required to have a valid driver’s license.


This position has been designated as a position of trust and requires finger printing and

background check.


This is a highly responsible position within the Bureau of General Services. The incumbent is responsible for:


  • Ensures compliance with all rules, statutes, regulatory authorities, and Department policies.
  • Reviews and processes purchase requisitions.
  • Provides administrative and technical support for the state's purchasing system.
  • Conduct solicitation response openings.
  • Reviews and processes contracts and any contract changes.
  • Serves as a liaison between vendors and Department staff.
  • Submits all reports and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Performs quality assurance on agency purchasing card purchases.
  • Greet visitors and answer phones.  Direct visitors and calls to appropriate person.
  • Performs other related duties as required.



  • One (1) or more years of direct experience in procurement (purchasing, contracting, and/or competitive solicitations).
  • One (1) or more years of experience working in a Florida state agency procurement office.



  • Knowledge of and ability to apply Florida Statutes, Administrative Code, and other authorities as applicable
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively use the state’s purchasing system
  • Ability to develop contracts to include; drafting scope, deliverables, performance measures and financial consequences 
  • Ability to apply problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to develop various reports
  • Ability to ensure effective and efficient business operations
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively
  • Ability to develop job aids, tools, forms, manuals and other materials as requested
  • Ability to communicate effectively
