Salary:  $1,402.60 / Bi-Weekly

The Agency is seeking a full time legislative analyst. The legislative analyst assists in the development and advancement of legislative initiatives for the Agency. This position is responsible for tracking legislation and regulations pertaining to health care, the Medicaid program, and health care facilities. In addition, the analyst will keep senior staff abreast of the legislative process and assist the Legislative Affairs Director. The position will have the added responsibility of leading the Agency’s Long Range Program Plan development and will handle other tasks within the office as needed.

 

This position requires travel.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of the legislative process. 
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection. 
  • Skill in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point.
  • Ability to draft correspondence, format, and proofread materials. 
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. 
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and in writing. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build a strong professional network.
  • Ability and able to travel with or without accommodations.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  • Have at least 2 years of professional experience relating to state legislative and budget processing. 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; or 
  • Master's degree from a college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience; or  
  • Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
