SPECIAL NOTES:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Information Systems or related field OR equivalent experience in accounting, business analysis and design or related experience; OR two (2) year degree and equivalent experience is required.

 

Preferences:

  • Experience with Accounting Principles
  • Experience with the FLAIR State Accounting system.
  • Experience as a business analyst including gathering requirements and writing specifications.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis, design, testing and implementation.

 

Must be proficient in the English language

 

The salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 annually

 

This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description. 

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment. 

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accounting systems and data flow as demonstrated through prior work experience.
  • Knowledge of business, technical and project management disciplines as demonstrated through prior work experience.
  • Knowledge of systems analysis and design as demonstrated through prior work experience.
  • Skill in Microsoft Suite products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) and Visio software.
  • Skill in identifying, analyzing and resolving problems logically and systematically.
  • Skill in developing functional specifications and technical documentation from user requirements.
  • Skill in organization, planning and time management.
  • Ability to simplify complex accounting concepts and problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member.

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This is professional accounting and technical work analyzing, designing, testing and implementing the State’s Accounting System for the Department of Financial Services.

Performs analysis, design, testing and implementation for the accounting subsystems.

Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information in order to develop appropriate solutions and functional requirements for documenting specifications and operational procedures.

 

Analyze data and propose solutions for troubleshooting production problems.

 

Function as a liaison between the customers and software development team through meetings and technical documentation.

 

Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers and system owners.

 

Assists in the training of new or lower-level employees.

 

Performs other related duties as required.
