This is a technical professional position within the Agency for Health Care Administration's Division Information Technology, Bureau of Application Development & Support.  This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Agency's computer systems.  This position works with the business users and other IT staff to develop and modify computer systems to meet the Agency's business needs. This position is part of the Applications team.

Performs analysis, design, development, maintenance, support, and documentation to implement and support computer applications.  Develops applications using Microsoft Visual Studio, TFS, .NET, MVC, C#, and other. Participates in code and quality assurance reviews. Works with the DBA team to design and develop efficient, purpose driven databases. 
Provides support to business users by responding to help requests, writing user documentation, writing technical documentation, and defining system requirements.
Researches technical needs and documents the findings. Provides improved solutions to current process issues.
Provides a quality solution by following the Agency’s standards and procedures and industry’s best practices. Promotes code changes through DEV, BETA, and Production using the AHCA promotion process.
Reports and communicates work status to the business stakeholders, team members, and Agency management.
Formal education in the technical areas listed may substitute for some of the experience needed in the KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES list.



  • Experience in C# and .NET.
  • Experience in SQL Query Development
  • Experience in WEB application development
  • Experience in database development
  • Experience in SQL Server and Oracle navigation
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite of tools
  • Knowledge of SSRS or other reporting tools
  • Ability to document work assignments
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others    



  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience or formal education in writing computer language/code to develop a functional solution.                      
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience or formal education in .NET web application development.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience or formal education using SQL server database or Oracle database.
