What Will l I Be Doing?

This Test Data Management Data Base Analyst position functions as an integral member of the Test Data Management team and will operate as a database administrator for the department’s Oracle and SQL databases. The incumbent will perform database administration on Oracle versions 10g, 11g, and 12c. Duties will include: Assisting and supporting test data management, database and data warehouse users, analyzing, coordinating and implementing new database requests and systems; monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving test data management, database, and data warehouse issues.

  • Experience in Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c database administration
  • Experience working in a Unix operating system
  • Ability to work independently and to resolve complex Oracle issues
  • Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems about data infrastructure
  • Ability to write 10g/11g/ 12c SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages and Database Triggers
  • Ability to Tune Oracle SQL and PL/SQL performance
  • Knowledge of Unix scripting
  • Knowledge of data synchronization and data synchronization tools
  • Knowledge of test data management and test data management tools
  • Experience in logical database design and data models
  • Experience as a PL/SQL Developer
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle process
  • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service
  • Ability to maintain currency on tools, methodologies, and technologies related to data administration
  • Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical data processing information verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Do you have work experience administering Oracle and Oracle 12c databases?
  • Do you have work experience using the Oracle export/import or Data Pump utility?

Additional Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Professional experience writing stored procedures and PL/SQL programming
  • Experience as a PL/SQL Developer
  • Working with data synchronization tools


Education Preferred:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university in one of the computer sciences or management information systems (or)
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or)
  • Completion of a two-year program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry).        

What’s Required?
The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background and CJIS security clearance, to include fingerprinting as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.  As an applicant for positions requiring CJIS security clearance, you are required to disclose criminal records that have been sealed or expunged. 


This position may periodically be required to work outside regular business hours.
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., although being on-call and working outside regular business hours may be required periodically.
General Information
The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

HSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.  All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
