Position is located in West Palm Beach, FL and reports directly to the Division of Facilities Management & Building Construction-Bureau of Business Operations

Salary: $38,659.92 - $75,578.71 Annually

Salary will be determined in accordance with current pay policy.  Employees are normally hired at the minimum of the salary range.

DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for preparing and executing lease documents for private and public sector leases. The candidate must possess excellent (verbal and written) communication skills as well as the ability to plan daily activities, follow written and oral instructions. Be motivated and a self-starter requiring minimal prompting and constant one-on-one supervision.  The incumbent must be courteous and exhibit a high level of professionalism with internal and external staff and customers.  Ability to independently meet with internal management and vendors with the highest level of decorum and ensure the integrity of the Department is maintained.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of F.S. 255, Florida Administrative Codes, DMS rules, policies and procedures as it relates to state-government leasing. 
  • Ability to conduct extensive research, interpret, analyze and compile data for reporting purposes; possess strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and exhibit the willingness to learn various other computer programs as required by the Department.  
  • Ability to organize and maintain electronic and tangible lease files.
  • Willingness and motivation to present new ideas and/or methods to improve the existing processes.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments to meet the deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, writing or a related area and a minimum of four (4) years of similar professional administrative work experience; OR eight (8) years professional administrative work experience in a related area.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

    Experience in writing, managing or monitoring contracts or grants.

    Experience in procurement and preparation of public and/or private sector state leases, contracts or grants.

    Experience in researching, interpreting/analyzing and compiling data for reporting purposes.

    Successful applicant must pass a background screening and fingerprinting.
