MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and (3) three years of professional experience in a business related field; or

A master's degree can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

JOB DUTIES:

The Financial Management Unit has numerous responsibilities within the Bureau of Finance and Accounting. Some of the tasks undertaken to fulfill these responsibilities are performed daily, some weekly, monthly or even only annually.  In order to ensure successful completion, the Unit engages in cross-training and shared responsibility for most tasks.  This position has the following responsibilities:

1.  Serves as the Purchasing Card Program Administrator.  Monitors all cardholder transactions. Develops and recommends policies and procedures regarding the purchasing card program. Maintains all records. Updates all relevant guidelines, manuals and training materials as needed. Acts as a liaison between the program participants and the contract provider.

2.  Assists in the preparation of the department's statewide financial statement forms. Closing and adjusting entries must be prepared in conformity with governmental generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with the Chief Financial Officers instructional package.

3.  Serves as back-up for the cash and investment management functions including daily monitoring and reporting of cash and investment positions, investing and divesting funds necessary to meet the various funding needs, monthly recording of interests and reconciling with the Treasurer both monthly and at year-end.

4.  Performs analytical procedures to identify invalid and/or atypical GL codes and object codes and ensures the    correcting entries are completed timely and accurately.

5. Calculates and creates a batch for the quarterly human resource assessment.

6.  Performs monthly reconciliation of the Revenue system to departmental FLAIR.

7.  Other special projects and duties as assigned.
