Incumbent will work 29 hours per week.

 

This is a “pool” announcement and applicants will not be considered after six months.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Employee will provide basic nursing services as allowed by LPN scope of practice to students under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Community Health Nursing Supervisor.

Administers first aid, daily medications, and emergency medications to students and/or staff as requested and ordered by a physician.

Provides needed health care procedures to students as trained by their Community Health Nursing Supervisor. These include but are not limited to intermittent clean catheterization, gastrostomy tube feeding, and monitoring blood glucose.

Organize and assist with state mandated health screenings such as hearing/ vision, scoliosis, and body mass index. 

Maintains accurate records/documentation of all work performed.

Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Utilization of equipment:  Computer, printer, fax machine and telephone skills and data entry knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Florida LPN license and must be CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Florida Department of Health is required to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter or performing other emergency duties including but not limited to, response to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster man-made or natural.

  • Willing to work 29 hours per week 

  • Access to transportation

  • Valid Driver's License
