POSITION DESCRIPTION: Perform manual and automated testing of software applications and products developed and supported by Application Services. Follow developed testing standards, testing strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated) to ensure quality of software applications and products. Report issues to development teams for remediation following the approved issue tracking mechanism.

 

Analyze and understand the business and technical requirements of applications and other products developed and supported by Application Services. Review existing technical and business specifications, requirements, wireframes, process flows, data models, diagrams, project documentation, and other sources, in order to have a clear understanding of the features and function of software applications and products to be tested.

 

Work with teams and customers to develop testing strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts (Manual and automated) for software applications and products developed and supported by Application Services.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) and software development procedures, concepts and techniques. Knowledge of software quality assurance procedures, concepts, tools, and techniques. Knowledge of facilitating successful work sessions and meetings. Knowledge of SharePoint lists and libraries. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Skilled at stakeholder management and communication. Skilled at interpreting and communicating technical information both verbally and in writing. Skilled at written and verbal communication. Ability to lead, manage, motivate and work with diverse groups of people. Ability to apply creative thinking and innovative solutions to complex technical/business problem. Ability to receive and give constructive criticism and maintain effective work relationships with others. Ability to be open, collaborative, and in support of our agency’s values. Ability to interact and collaborate directly with customers, technical staff, and management. Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize work assignments. Ability to develop and give presentations. Ability to develop and manage technical documentation in accordance with State and the Department's standards. Ability to identify, evaluate, and use sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternative actions, and make recommendations.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in business, technical, or data analysis and/or project management; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and one year of experience as described above; or four years of experience as described above.
