The Nonpoint Source Management Program is accepting applications for a full-time (40 hours per week) OPS Environmental Specialist III position.

Description


This position is in the Nonpoint Source Management Program. The program manages federal and state funded projects geared toward reduction of nonpoint source (NPS) pollution throughout the state.

Summary of Duties


This position manages stormwater NPS abatement/demonstration projects supported through both state and federal grant programs. Duties include: development and management of contracts for watershed restoration projects, including contract preparation, review of contract deliverables and payment requests, and entering data into a contract management system. Position also participates in grant solicitation and evaluation processes, participates as a team member to implement the rotating basin approach to watershed restoration, and represents the NPS Program in meetings with appropriate agencies.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Essential)

 

  1. Knowledge of the Department contracting procedures and policies.
  2. Knowledge of stormwater, nonpoint source, and watershed management principles, laws, and regulations.
  3. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  4. Ability to work independently.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  6. Ability to prepare and critique technical documents.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  8. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  9. Ability to travel overnight.
  10. Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license.

A valid Florida Driver’s License

Hourly wage: $19.69 per hour
