General Summary
The Florida House of Representatives Office of Information Technology (House IT) is seeking an experienced and driven Information Security Manager (ISM) to support complex areas of data security, threat and vulnerability management, security auditing, analysis and security awareness. This individual will proactively work with business units and partners to implement practices that meet policies and standards for information security. The ISM should understand and articulate the impact of cybersecurity on (digital) business, and be able to communicate this to stakeholders. This individual will assist with the development and implementation of information technology policies, procedures, and best practices.
Examples of Work Performed
- Assist with the development and implementation of information technology policies procedures, and best practices
- Communicates with management regarding information security issues and risks, providing recommended action
- Contributes to the research and analysis of information security trends and recommends hardening configurations
- Identify and recommend solutions to security visibility gaps
- Participates in the change management process
- Daily Security system monitoring
- Data and File access auditing
- Vulnerability management program monitoring
- Develop, manage and maintain cybersecurity operations documentation, document procedures and assist with policy definitions and violation reporting
- Write, prepare and/or review system, application and user documentation
- Assists with the information security awareness program and periodic campaigns
- Assist teams as needed on endpoint security toolset and ensure appropriate alerting
- Assist teams as needed on Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and ensure appropriate alerting
- Provides management status briefings on the current status of the information security program
- Assist with the development and implementation of new products and services
- Assists in translating customer requirements into executable project plans
- Assists management in establishing objectives, setting goals, and establishing unit priorities
- Ensures vendors and outsourced technology are compatible with existing standards
- Provides high-quality and professional customer service
- Performs other related duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the systems development process and technology, project methodology, systems design and analysis tools and techniques.
- Ability to use and selectively apply a project methodology, and utilize the tools and techniques necessary for project scheduling.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to plan, organize and direct project activities.
- Ability to utilize research and analytical skills.

- Knowledge of computer operations systems and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or engineering and four years of progressively responsible information systems experience.
Progressively responsible information systems experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. Any combination of progressively responsible information systems experience and post-secondary training in disciplines as described above totaling eight years.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or other similar credentials.

Commensurate with experience.
