The Law Offices of Julianne M. Holt, Public Defender, 13th Judicial Circuit, Hillsborough County, Florida is seeking full-time entry level and experienced attorneys for our downtown Tampa office.

The Public Defender is an elected official who has a constitutional duty to provide legal representation to persons in jeopardy of losing their life or liberty and who cannot afford to hire a private attorney.

Entry level attorney starting salary - $46,000.00.

Experienced attorney salary – Commensurate with experience.

Candidates must be a member in good standing with The Florida Bar and/or experienced Juris Doctorate. Applicants must also appreciate the importance of indigent defense.

Ideal candidates will possess superior communication, analytical, and research skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing each case effectively, efficiently, and diligently; advising and counseling each client; establishing and maintaining a professional relationship with each client; effectively and efficiently using investigators, mitigation specialists, our forensic behavior intervention unit (FBHIU), and other support staff; seeking assistance from experts appropriate to the case; upholding professional and ethical standards; exercising sound judgment; and assisting the Public Defender in carrying out her responsibilities.
