The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is committed to making sure that Florida's consumers receive some of their most essential services — electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and wastewater — in a safe, reasonable, and reliable manner. In doing so, the FPSC exercises regulatory authority over utilities in one or more of three key areas: rate base/economic regulation; competitive market oversight; and monitoring of safety, reliability, and service.


Description of Job Duties:

This is an entry level technical position responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating economic data pertaining to utility-related issues, with a focus on utility conservation programs and associated costs. The employee in this position is required to analyze filings, prepare reports in a timely manner, and to make presentations to the Commission. The position may work individually or as part of a team, and some assignments may require a quick turnaround deadline.


Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study preferably in: business administration, with an emphasis in economics, finance or accounting; economics; accounting; finance; mathematics; statistics; or public administration. 


Special consideration will be given to applicants with analytical experience relevant to the listed job duties and responsibilities for the position, as well as utility regulation or utility industry work experience.   


This position works in close interaction with other technical and legal staff, requiring the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
