The Executive Office of the Governor was established by Chapter 79-190, Laws of Florida. The Governor exercises the highest level of executive authority, informs the Legislature on the conditions of the state, directs executive programs, implements legislative intent and participates with the Cabinet. The function of the office is to assist the Governor in meeting statutory and constitutional duties. Key responsibilities include administering executive planning and budgeting functions and assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of state programs.
