Position Summary

This is a position established as Accountant II under the Accounting Services Supervisor II – SES. Its primary purpose is to perform independent accounting work and coordinate all accounts payable records, financial reports, and utilization of financial systems. This position will have lead worker responsibilities for the Accounts Payable function at Sunland Center for all invoice types (goods, services, travel & medical).  This position complies with and monitors compliance (when applicable) of the mandatory requirements in Section 215.422, F.S. and Chapter 60A of the Florida Administrative Code. It is housed in the Administration Building.

 

The Work You Will Do 

Process invoices for goods and services for Sunland Center on a daily basis. Verifying transaction date and accuracy in MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) in accordance with Agency/Department of Financial Services Procedures. Ensure required documentation is attached to MFMP Invoice to provide adequate support of the expenditure for audit review by DFS and ensure documentation available for appropriate audit of voucher file. Process travel vouchers in accordance with Agency policies and prompt payment timelines.

 

Process invoices for Medical Services for Sunland Center on a daily basis, recode invoice amounts based on procedure codes and Medicare fee schedule, obtaining accurate Contract Services Agreement from Medical, verifying transaction date and accuracy in MFMP and FLAIR in accordance with Agency and Department of Financial Services Procedures. Ensure required documentation is in compliance with HIPPA and attached to MFMP Invoice to provide adequate support of the expenditure for audit review by DFS and ensure documentation available for appropriate audit of voucher file.

 

Prepares and consolidates information/documentation for invoices processed in the Works System and ensures processing per Agency policy. Monitor transactions daily and prepare vouchers for review and approval by the Accounting Services Supervisor.

 

 

Print vouchers on a daily basis, preparing a voucher file with all documentation for each vendor. Maintain a numerical sequence file for each voucher schedule and a vendor file for all voucher schedules and supporting documentation. Monitor status of vouchers on a daily basis. Provide to the Accounting Supervisor the voucher file for review and approval of the voucher schedule. Submit to DFS the voucher schedule and supporting documentation for all audited vouchers on a daily basis. Submit to DFS the voucher schedule and all supporting documentation for vouchers audited through the quick pay audit system.

 

Complete journal transfers/contract payments in FLAIR of obligations to other State Agencies/Departments as requested. Ensure appropriate documentation and approval signatures are obtained prior to entry into FLAIR.

 

Correspond with vendors and service providers on Accounts Payable issues, resolving any outstanding issues. Includes review of monthly statements from vendors and research of unpaid invoices.

 

Monitor the Encumbrance Report, MFMP Reports and Purchase Orders for items outstanding for an extended period of time. Research these items to determine if action is required and implement corrective action to resolve any issues.

 

Perform other related duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Experience working in MyFloridaMarketplace (MFMP)
  • Experience working in Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR)
  • Preferred: At least 3 years of bookkeeping or clerical experience

This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

 

Background Screening Requirement
