Regular business hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday to Friday.
DESCRIPTION
The Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) Certification Specialist is a highly professional position responsible for ensuring that all BIPs who apply for certification meet the Department requirements through the initial application and annual monitoring process. The Specialist will maintain close communication with the Office of Domestic Violence (ODV) program and monitoring teams on issues related to domestic violence community coordination, certification requirements, and training opportunities. This position will make recommendations on training development in collaboration with both internal and external partners and conduct relevant trainings on domestic violence for providers. The Specialist is also responsible for developing reports, statewide resources, and publications related to BIPs. Position incumbent must demonstrate self-direction and self-motivation, sound decision making, and the ability to maintain positive and respectful working relationships. Position incumbent will travel locally and statewide as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in the field of domestic violence. Compliance monitoring/contract monitoring/BIP facilitation preferred
Essential Job Functions
Conduct fiscal, administrative and/or programmatic monitoring, either on-site or via desk review, of BIP providers to assess compliance with state laws and regulations. Approve BIP group curriculums through a comprehensive curriculum review and live monitoring of BIP groups.
Complete review of all BIP applications to ensure compliance with Department Requirements as related to F.S. 741.325
Develop and maintain ODV BIP training curriculums. Provide training on BIP related topics to BIP facilitators, BIP assessors and other community partners. Provide support to other Program staff for trainings and events, as needed. Develop and update brochures, posters, palm cards and/or other statewide resources on BIP.
Coordinate and execute all tasks associated with the annual BIP monitoring, including development and updating of annual monitoring tools, and maintaining a schedule of annual BIP monitoring in coordination with the ODV team.
Communicate all certification approvals, terminations, or suspensions with the Office of Court Administration to maintain accurate records of certified BIPs.
Participate in program staff meetings, trainings, and events as required. Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
At minimum, a Bachelor's Degree and three years experience in the domestic violence or relative field.
Work Experience Requirements:
The Specialist will have a minimum two years’ experience as a trainer and two years of program development experience. The Specialist must have a strong understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of domestic violence empowerment-based services and knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, including coercive control, and root causes of violence. Preferred qualifications include proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Able to create and update monitoring reports. Knowledge of grant and contract administration, accounting and/or programmatic domestic violence systems. Proficient in interpreting, applying and explaining laws and regulations and interpreting narrative or demographic/statistical reports to ensure compliance. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and ability to write professional correspondence such as memos and letters.
Note: This position requires extensive in-state travel, at times with minimal notice. Travel percentage: 50-75
